I know I've been far behind on uploading art or even my little doodles I practice while I continue to procrastinate replacing my pen display. (I'm sure the only person genuinely upset about my lack of art is me- life moves at its own pace, dig?)

Anyways, I've wanted to loredump about my characters somewhere, so why not here? First up- since it's Cat Day- is Kasmir (the smol catgirl with super long jet black hair and black irises).

I sketched her for the first time while working in a haunted house run by my mom back in ~2018ish. She was loosely based on the cat I grew up with named Jake. He was super sweet and had such a luxurious coat of long, silky black fur and he was practically glued to my mother's shadow. We always joked that mom is a witch and I guess it made it all the more fun to imagine Jake was her familiar. Another cat that played a part in Kasmir's design was, well, a kitten I adopted when I was still in high school which I named Kashmir (after the Led Zeppelin song). She was a black shorthair, but her tail was unusually long, easily twice the length it should've been. All of my older cats at the time were incredibly sweet to her.

Kas has become a sort of comfort character for me. She typically embodies the sweetness and childlike innocence my cats had which I adored them for, along with the whimsy and joy I love about my mom. While Kas may do things which seem odd for such a character (collect guns, go on dangerous adventures, etc), she's in a way a self-insert for the inner child I've idealized. Fun, comforting, and mostly wholesome (before you ask- no lewd stuff, s'il vous plaît. Merci).

Born on February 22nd, 3007, Kasmir Belle Ténèbres is 14 by the time the story begins and living with her adoptive brother, having spent her earliest years an orphan in a school of witchcraft. She's incredibly polite and slightly reserved in unfamiliar company and highly intelligent, having forgone her high school years by taking summer classes and displaying an almost cutting-edge understanding of healing magic and practical medicine.

Her parents were students at the St. Jackson's School of Witchcraft in St. Jackson, Mississippi. When they vanished without a trace, the school's headmistress Madame Lorraine took her in. Ty (her adoptive brother) attended the school and bonded easily with the reclusive Kas. Soon she would cling to him as if she were his shadow and the two were as close as siblings. When Ty turned 18, he petitioned Madame Lorraine to let him adopt her with the condition that he make her attend summer classes. When she graduated, they moved to New Memphis.

Ty became a field agent for the Aescundus Research Society (ARS), working for one Verna Churchill. His job required him to venture into the deadly Badlands which border Appalachia in order to research and attempt to establish relations with the tribes of the region (namely the Metalheads, whom Verna was secretly tied to at the time). Kas convinced him to take her along due to her medical prowess and because she flat refused to be separated from him for any significant length of time. During their tenure with the Metalheads, Kas would become fast friends with Emily Churchill (the blonde with green eyes and freckles).

Kas isn't a particularly sophisticated person, taste-wise. Just a little odd for some of the things she enjoys and her preferences.

I could go on and on about little notes and details about her that I've written over the years, but a decent majority would be spoilers for the story or just seem messy and unorganized (which they kinda are). If you've got any curiosities about her, feel free to ask! She will ultimately be the protagonist of my stories second to Emily, and I just genuinely adore her.
